We've been busy planting trees on our own property of 4+ hectares, by the Motueka River, which was bought 17 years ago. Back then it was a wasteland.

Our vision is planting trees in a holistic manner that supports all biodiversity:  the land, animals and humans alike. We plant native trees, fruit trees, trees for the birds and trees for shade. This land is now full of life.

We don’t subscribe to a traditional carbon offset programme.

Instead, this is how we offset your Carbon emissions while travelling in your Campervan. If you’re interested, check the carbon sequestration data below.

Sunrise travellers have previously had exclusive access to stay at this land. We’re currently working on the lands infrastructure, meaning that travellers can’t stay here. But we intend to open this land up for Sunrise customers to stay with us again in the future.

Sunrise Holidays - Estimated Carbon Footprint

 Scope 1/ Category 1 Emissions = 6.09

Scope 1 emissions are emissions from fuels that your company directly uses. i.e. machinery, vehicles and heating.

Scope 2/ Category 2 Emissions = 0.12

Scope 2 emissions are emissions from purchased electricity.

Scope 3/ Categories 3-6 Emissions = 5.92

Scope 3 emissions are indirect emissions such as freight, flights, accommodation, non company vehicles and waste.

Estimated Total Carbon Footprint = 12.13 tCO2e per FTE

Sunrise business use + tCO2e per FTE = 12.13

Leaving a 139.07 in remaining credits which covers all Campervan hires by Sunrise customers, with an added 31% in carbon credit :)
