Insurance options are charged on top of any quoted daily rate for the hire vehicle. Choose the one that works best for you:

  (Includes additional driver, car seats if required, camping chairs & table).

Star RV Inclusions

These are included with every hire - regardless of your chosen insurance option.

• Standard insurance ($7500 Excess/Bond).

• Quality Linen, crockery, kitchen equipment & full gas bottle.

• Goods and Services Tax (GST).

• Transfer shuttle free of charge from the airport and airport hotels (must be booked in advance).

Star RV Extras

Everyone’s hire is unique and so these are charged in addition:

• Additional driver - $2/day

• Camping table - $25

• Camping chairs - $18

• Snow chains - $50

• Carseat (capsule, child seat or booster) - $40

• Fan heater - $20

• Gas bottle - $35

• Fees may also apply on drop off if the diesel or LPG gas bottle are empty, the campervan is not tidy and waste has not been emptied.

Road User Charges (RUCs)

Anyone using New Zealand’s roads contributes towards their upkeep. Most road users pay levies when they buy fuel. Others, including drivers of diesel vehicles, pay through Road User Charges (RUC). You can read more about this on the New Zealand government's NZTA website. All Star RV vehicles use diesel and therefore RUC apply.

We do not include these Road User Charges (RUC) in the daily hire rate. This means you will only pay for the kilometres you travel and we can offer you our lowest hire fee.

Your Road User Charges will be calculated at the end of your hire from your final odometer reading.

We will confirm your final odometer reading and total kilometres travelled when you return your vehicle, and will invoice you for the RUC fee once your hire is complete.

Star RV Rates:

• Based off NZ RUC rates at end of hire ($76 per 1000km in late 2023).

Star RV’s team is available when you’re on the road and need something vehicle related addressed immediately. And when you’re hiring with Sunrise Holidays, you’ll also have our expertise to call on should things ever get tricky or sticky. We’re always there as a backup to keep your holiday plans rolling smoothly.

When you hire a Star RV vehicle through Sunrise Holidays, you’ll have a hire agreement directly with Star RV Australia and New Zealand. Please carefully read their terms and conditions linked below and because Sunrise Holidays is providing you with our full service, you’ll also have an agreement with us.
